Battlefield America
½ (out of ★★★★)

Nationwide - "Battlefield America" has to be seen to be believed, but
please don't see it. It's the kind of film that has gone so wrong in so
many ways, it legitimately makes one wonder how it got made without a
single person raising so much as an eyebrow at the malarkey being put on
camera.

Kingdom
★★ (out of ★★★★)

Select Cities - Were it not for 1998's "Rushmore," it would be easy to
write Wes Anderson off as a one-trick pony. Having proved he's capable of
greatness, however, has only made every one of his follow-ups all the more
disappointing. Where is the honesty to go along with Anderson's incessant
preening?

★★½ (out of ★★★★)

Select Cities & VOD - Whereas its predecessor was humorous but still kept a
certain seriousness to its exploits, "Piranha 3DD" fully and unabashedly
embraces the silly. As such, the film is eager to please and, at just 70
minutes sans very, very elongated end credits, over before a proper
conclusion has been reached. It's just as well, since what comes before
this is admittedly a bunch of junky fun. The oft-offended should consider
themselves warned.

the Huntsman
★★★ (out of ★★★★)

Nationwide - Close to spellbinding as entertainment, simultaneously
beautiful and gritty, threateningly dark as well as fantastical. When it
comes to fairy tales, half the battle is in the creation of a winning hero
or heroine and a bull's-eye adversary. "Snow White and the Huntsman"
understands this, then outdoes itself.
