Preparing for Hurricane Sandy

Team BJGE has been at it since yesterday safeguarding homes and property for
our clients. We ask all our fiends to remain vigilant and safe over the
next few days.

Preparing for Sandy

The east coast of the United States is bracing itself for inclement weather
beginning this weekend. The State of Virginia has already declared a state
of emergency. We ask that you prepare yourselves in the event the
predictions come true. To that end, here are some pointers to safe your
premises and protect your family.

1) Tune into an all-news radio channel like WTOP 103.5
<http://www.wtop.com/?nid=706> http://www.wtop.com/?nid=706

2) Follow the developing storm online
<http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at201218.html>
http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at201218.html

3) Make sure your cell phones are fully charged

4) Keep an ample supply of water and dried foods on hand (3-5 days'
worth). Fill up the bathtub with water as well

5) Keep flashlights handy and make sure you have extra batteries

6) Prepare a list of phone numbers for your local utility companies

7) Secure all exterior furniture, BBQ grills and potted plants

8) Make sure your vehicles are full of gas

9) Keep your bags packed in the event of an emergency evacuation and
remember to carry your ID with you

10) And finally, keep your medications readily available and be sure to
fulfill prescriptions ahead of the storm

We ask that you take these simple steps to safe your family and belongings.

Columbus Day options?

Opening This Week:

<http://www.dustinputman.com/reviews/b/12_butter.htm> Butter
★★ (out of ★★★★)

VOD & Select Cities - "Butter" is pleasant despite being awfully slight and
rather mean-spirited-proof that this material might have made a far better
picture with a smarter, more controlled voice.

>>

<http://www.dustinputman.com/reviews/f/12_frankenweenie.htm> Frankenweenie
★★ (out of ★★★★)

Nationwide - To turn off the sound, forget the story and drink in the
sights, "Frankenweenie" is a delight. It is everything else, dishonest and
misguided in the extreme, that gets in the way.

Review >>

<http://www.dustinputman.com/reviews/p/12_paperboy.htm> The Paperboy
★★ (out of ★★★★)

Select Cities - Wildly erratic and focally unsure. There is talent and
ambition swirling throughout "The Paperboy," but no common-denominator to
pack it into a complete and lasting whole.

Review >>

<http://www.dustinputman.com/reviews/t/12_taken2.htm> Taken 2
★★ (out of ★★★★)

Nationwide - Basically a loose, lesser remake of its predecessor, there is
the cloying sense that what is being watched is extraneous and
unnecessary-and really, really loopy.

Thinking about not voting in November? Think again

If you have ever doubted why you should vote this November--perhaps $300.00
a month out of your pocket will be incentive enough to send the entire bunch
home with a one way ticket!!!

Peking Gourmet Inn

The old saying "some things remain the same" couldn't be truer for my
favorite restaurant-The Peking Gourmet Inn located in Falls Church, Virginia
http://www.pekinggourmet.com/ For over 30 years and after several hundred
dining experiences, the place remains #1 in my book as my favorite place to
eat. Mind you, having travelled far and wide and eaten at holes in the
walls and five star establishments, Peking Gourmet has always remained my
bench mark for quality, taste and flavor. In fact a few years ago, we had
the good fortune of hosting a delegation from Beijing for dinner and upon
departing, the guest of honor apologized that he would not be able the
replicate the dining experience when we visited Beijing. He was correct.
However, the article in the September 28th Wall Street Journal
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10000872396390444620104578008480705669240.ht
ml?KEYWORDS=peking+Gourmet+inn
seems to indicate that perhaps things are
changing in Beijing. What is of particular interest is the special mention
of my favorite (and soon to be yours) restaurant. In highlighting eateries
around the world and the United States, The Peking Gourmet Inn stands atop
the hill alone. The next time you feel like dining out or are visiting DC
and want a special place to eat-give them a try. You will not be
disappointed. And if all else fails and the menu is overwhelming------just
tell George, Millie, Bobby or Raymond----you want Mr. Azeez's menu!!! Happy
eating!!

Faridoun Hemani is a broadcast journalist, and founder of independent
production company Linx Productions. He has been in the television news
business for 35 years, and has covered major international stories around
the world -- from the assassination of President Sadat in 1981 for CNN, to
the civil war in Lebanon and events in India and Pakistan for ABC News, and
as the Bureau Chief for Central Eastern Europe for WTN (Worldwide Television
News), covered the revolutions of Central Europe, the violent breakup of
Yugoslavia, and the war in Iraq and Somalia. Today, Faridoun works with
organizations such as the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), the UN and
other international organizations covering stories of a social nature in the
developing world. In 2010, Faridoun co-produced a 6-part series on Human
Trafficking (as part of Moonbeam-Linx), that aired on BBC World Television.
The series was supported and funded by End Human Trafficking Now (EHTN), a
Geneva based organization that encourages businesses to take an active role
to stem this modern form of slavery.
