Nationwide - Any time Spidey is dangling hundreds of feet in the air,
chasing after bad guys or trying to reach citizens in need, the film
figuratively and quite literally reaches genuinely rousing heights. It's a
generally well-made picture, better for its visuals than its human
component. But did it need to be made, and so soon?

Beasts of the Southern Wild
★★★ (out of ★★★★)

Select Cities - Spunky, deeply poignant at times, and beautifully carried by
a miraculous performance from then-6-year-old newcomer Quvenzhané Wallis,
the picture is yet another poster child for how much can be achieved with
shoestring funds, and how the beauty of a good screenplay is more important
than anything money can buy.
