Still time to see a movie or two before the Oscars Sunday

Opening This Week:

War Began
★★½ (out of ★★★★)

Select Cities & OnDemand - A hip, glossy, teen-targeted adaptation of the
first in a popular seven-part series of Australian novels by John Marsden,
"Tomorrow, When the War Began" is quite a crafty genre mash-up that
deserves to find an audience.

★★½ (out of ★★★★)

Nationwide - Much like the loose, completely Zen, "free-to-be-you-and-me"
residents of a hippie commune where George and Linda find themselves,
"Wanderlust" is a tad scattered, a little unwieldy, but never less than
eager to please. Fans of the cast are sure to have a particularly good time.

"Gone" from Summit and "Good Deeds" from Lionsgate were not screened in
advance for press. Normally, I try to see films that are "opening cold" at
a Thursday midnight showing, but this week, due to an unforeseen illness,
it's not possible.
