Opening This Week: Out of the Furnace Nationwide - Standing next to something like 2013's similar but radically more complex and thematically loaded "Prisoners," "Out of the Furnace" is an unambitious exploitation flick that just so happens to have A-list actors and production values. Another Retro-Review: Madea's Big Happy Family (2011) It isn't the worst film to feature that law-breaking, right-and-ready, tell-it-exactly-like-it-is matriarch, but it is the sloppiest. "Madea's Big Happy Family" is a facetious title; there's not a happy one in the bunch. Eventually, neither is the viewer. The latest additions to this new section of the site include: "Galactic Adventures: 3D Sun/Mars 3D," "Despicable Me 2," "Saturn 3," "Paradise," "Mickey's Christmas Carol," "Winnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year" and "Monsters University." |
