Maybe an On Demand weekend............

Opening This Week:

★★½ (out of ★★★★)

Nationwide - The limited cast of characters are too slimly drawn for their
fates to be cared very deeply about, but viewed purely as a "what-if?"
record of a dirty secret within America's history, it's worth a few honest
chills. "Apollo 18" is less concerned with depth and more about the strict
skillfulness of capturing an increasingly queasy tone and mood. This is
where it works.

<http://www.dustinputman.com/reviews/s/11_sharknight.htm> Shark Night
★★½ (out of ★★★★)

Nationwide - Far-fetched though it is, "Shark Night" works better than one
could possibly imagine. It retains enough deadly mayhem and suggestive
nudity to not feel the least bit watered-down, then does one better by
treating its story and characters with an agreeable balance of the serious
and tongue-and-cheek. As unnecessary as the format is in general, even the
use of three dimensions is comparatively effective and unobtrusive.< br>

<http://www.dustinputman.com/reviews/w/11_warrior.htm> Warrior
★ (out of ★★★★)

Nationwide Sneaks Sept 4th, Opens Sept 9th - An immature, contrived, sap-
infested drama of feuding family members, feel-good histrionics and mixed
martial arts, the film opens with a certain cautious promise before falling
into rote, melodramatic formula. It's a shame watching the cast act their
hearts out while nothing around them is working. The longer it goes, the
more insanely moronic, supremely annoying and egregiously manipulative it
dares to become.

Now OnDemand:

<http://www.dustinputman.com/reviews/r/11_redstate.htm> Red State
★★★ (out of ★★★★)

OnDemand - If "Red State" isn't necessarily Kevin Smith's best picture (for
me, 1997's "Chasing Amy" still holds that title), it most certainly is his
best-directed, signaling a vast leap forward for the filmmaker. It's a
smart, mature film from a man who, now, has artistically come-of-age.
